Watch 1.21b Replays after 1.22 Warcraft Patch Installed
How to watch 1.21b Replays after 1.22 Warcraft Patch Installed. I am sure many of you will curious on how to do that. And i just found from the Dota-Allstars forums on how to do it. This post is from Champ, the forum leader of Competitive Dota section. Here we go.
After a the new patch (1.22) has been released people have been asking how to watch 1.21b replays when they have 1.22 installed, well I'm going to tell you the fastest working way.
***Make sure Warcraft III is closed before we begin.***
You must install WinRar (1.15MB), its free and its used to extract these files.
What you need to download:
These are the same downloads, just on different sites by request. Download 1.21b and 1.22 on either site.
FileFront:
* 1.21b (28.56 MB)
* 1.22 (28.56 MB)
* HQ Video Download, and with Video
MegaUpload:
* 1.21b (28.56 MB)
* 1.21b (28.56 MB)
Watch this patching tutorial once your done downloading 1.21b and 1.22.
Leet Tube Video
(Assuming the wc3 directory is the default c:\program files\warcraft III)
- unrar the file to a 1.21b directory in your wc3 directory.
- go to your wc3 directory and create a new directory called 1.22.
- copy game.dll, ijl15.dll, mss32.dll, storm.dll, war3.exe, and war3patch.mpq to the 1.22 folder.
- now you have the 1.21b version and 1.22 version in different folders. Anytime you want to view a 1.21b replay, just go into the 1.21b folder and COPY (don't move) those files to your main wc3 directory. When you want to switch back to 1.22, just copy the files in the 1.22 directory to the main wc3 directory. To make this simple, I use the following batch files:
121.bat, CODE:
cd c:\progra~1\warcra~1
copy .\1.21b\* .\
122.bat, CODE:
cd c:\progra~1\warcra~1
copy .\1.22\* .\
I put them on my desktop and just run whichever version I want. No need to repatch or anything like that. Tested with 1.21b and 1.22 replays with no errors. I'm not sure if you can still use batch files in Vista, but on XP, this works fine.
Well, i hope this guide can help you watch the old replays :)
DotA Theme Manager Version 2 released - Snow Theme Beta Included!
DotA Theme Manager, Version 2 released - Snow Theme Beta Included! Boring with all the same background and cosmetics on Dota-Allstars map? Now you can change the background into something cooler. Actually, this things is already there on Dota-Allstars forums since a while ago, but i prefer playing Clockwerk Goblin at the time :p Watch the screenshot and be amazed! Here is some quote and note on how to install it.
Overview:
1. What does this "Theme Manager" do?
The Theme Manager allows you using different terrainsets in DotA without using a different map. This works by replacing the textures/models in your MPQs - WC3's Data files - itself. It will not only change DotA's Terrain (where it has no glitches), but also other maps. In other maps, it will look quite bad, so this is more useful for DotA.
While it strongly changes the appearance of the map, it does not change anything of the gameplay - the changes are of PURE visual nature and the process is easily reversible.
The Theme Manager is completely compatible with every platform/hosting program (b.net/GGC/DC/LC/Hamachi/...).
The patch seems to have brought no problem at all.
2. What does it contain?
Beach Theme:
-Beachterrain everywhere
-"Pandaren" UI for both parties (thanks to Unwirklich)
Hell Theme:
-"Hell"-terrain everywhere
-"Demon" UI for both parties (thanks to Unwirklich)
Snow Theme
-Snowterrain everywhere
-"Frost" UI for both parties (made by myself, based on human UI)
Barrens Theme
-"Barrens" terrain
-orcish UI (by Blizzard, for both parties)
UI-only
-Pandaren or Demon User Interface for all 4 parties
3. How to use it?
(Installation)
How to install the Theme Manager?
1. If you have beachpack installed, restore to original (if you can't, it won't be too bad afaik). You would have exchanged your War3Patch.mpq in this case and should have a backup (with lower filesize).
2. Unpack the file IN your warcraft folder - in most cases C:\Program Files\Warcraft III.
3. DO NOT move or rename any of the files you unpacked.
4. Go!
(Usage)
1. Close your warcraft AND warcraft world editor. Else it does not work!
2. Start the program. If you start it the first time, it will create a backup of your MPQ
3. Select your favourite toolkit. If you select one, it will always be activated unless you change it!
4. Start WC3. Whether you start it out of the program or not is not important.
Other maps might have a (visually) screwed terrain - I suggest you to use "original" when playing something different than DotA
Beachpack in action - in "End Game"!
Have fun!
Infrisios
4. Spoiler - what will come in the future
As the preview screenshots show, the long awaited Snow Theme is close to being finished.
After that, I have a bunch of different basic ideas:
Themes:
-Barrens - that's what should come after snowpack.
-highland - something rocky -.-
-Dungeon - dunno, this could be a very dark version of the snow theme or something...I will again have a problem with trees... sad.gif
Others - these are purely hypothetic
Special functions in the GUI (again, only basic ideas):
-custom user interfaces for each race (with checkboxes or something you can select the Interfaces you'd like)
-custom models, again with checkboxes
-special icons (or do you like the Song of the Siren icon?)
5. DL-links, FAQ, Credits, Changelog, Screenshots, sig etc
Downloads: *.rar - you can only unpack these when you have winrar, but they are much smaller.
Dota Theme Manager Version 2
DL 1 - Megaupload [DTMV2]
DL 2 - Rapidshare [DTMV2]
DL 3 - Sendspace [DTMV2]
DL 4 - Mediafire [DTMV2]
Downloads: *.zip - bigger, but everyone can unpack them
Dota Theme Manager Version 2
DL 1 - Rapidshare
If any of these links is broken and you recognise it, please inform me. I will fix the problem asap, then.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
(or rather: questions ppl keep asking even though they are answered)
Q:Can this be made as a command like -ts?
A: No, because the cliffs can not be changed ingame.
Q: How does this pack work?
A: It replaces the textures of terrain and trees in the MPQ.
Q: Can you add a theme-fitting minimap?
A: After trying this in several different ways, I came to the conclusion that it is not possible to do that at all.
Wow, like the beach pack so much :)
If you like it, you can give the maker (Infrisios) some donation in this link.
Update: Dota Theme Manager Version 3 is available!

Update: Now Dota-Allstars 6.53 AIplus 1.52 revision 7
Here is what he said about this map:
Description:
It is the checked up map, works on 1.21b and 1.22a patches! Are made some my changes!
How's that for a quick update? =P
Normally I would take more time for testing but I have to leave again for another week or so, and you've all been remarkably patient so I decided to basically start a public beta test. I'd call this "Revision 0", but there's really no point in that, so here's the first revision of the newest port of RGB's AI to 6.53.
Note: Expect bugs. I haven't had time to find/iron them out. But please do report them as they show up.
I haven't had a chance to change -rd to the new format, or to address the removal of the "undroppable while in cooldown" system. Also, no "$" symbols for observers yet. I'll add these in the next revision, which I'll start on right after I get back.
In the meantime, go ahead and test the AI...I make no guarantees yet on quality and such. As far as I know, the item builds all work (though sometimes it screws up if you give the AI a bunch of money and they all go buy items simultaneously)...let me know if something breaks during an actual game.
One quick observation I saw in brief testing is that the AI tends to return to the fountain more frequently...I don't know if it was a fluke or some odd routine that's running too often. Confirmation would be good. If it is a problem, I'll try to fix it in the next revision.
As far as I know, all the other new content has been done (except for -ah, -afk, -kickafk, some exploits, and various bugfixes). As always, report bugs here as you encounter them, and be specific: "OMFG MY GAME CRASHED WTF" is not very helpful.
Thanks especially to Tenshinhan DN, Overflow_GR, Duvon, Strikur--, Counter_Helix_axe, Catalyst, and chaser02 for their hard work in creating the item builds for the AI. If you helped out and don't see your name here, let me know so I can give you props for your work. =)
Readme is as follows:
DotA Allstars 6.53 AI+ 1.52 Revision 01
---------------------------------------
This is a port of RGB's AI+ v1.52 (originally written for DotA Allstars 6.48b).
It behaves the same as the original AI, and has only been updated to account for balance changes, new item recipes, and most new features. As such, some new content does not work fully with the AI yet.
THERE IS NO AI FOR LIFESTEALER, INVOKER, OR CLOCKWERK GOBLIN. THEY WILL NEITHER USE NOR LEARN THEIR SKILLS.
Known bugs with AI:
-Pathing on the top Sentinel lane is still the same as in 6.48b
-AI Sand King will not properly use Epicenter
-AI don't properly react to -nb and -nt modes
-Some exploits that should have been fixed are still in the game...just don't use them. If you really want to cheat against AI, just use -test.
Some commands have yet to be implemented properly:
-ah
-afk
-kickafk
Additionally, I have added a Fun Tavern in the lower right corner. Currently includes six legacy heroes (possibly more in the future): Old Invoker (6.12b), Old Lifestealer (6.48b), Old Silencer (6.12b), Gambler (6.06), Old Morphling (5.84b), and Old Stealth Assassin (5.84b).
To access the fun tavern, type -fun within the first 15 seconds of the game.
Changelog:
Rev. 01
=============
-First update to 6.53
-New item system implemented, so all item builds for AI heroes have been changed
-Disabled all AI scripts pertaining to Lanaya, hopefully this should allow players to choose her without crashing the game
-Updated AI Lycan to use new Howl ability
-Fixed timing on AI going to lanes in -rd
-It is now possible to pick heroes from the Fun Tavern when repicking or rechoosing
-Test command -lvlupall can have a number after it to have all heroes level up faster (i.e. "-lvlupall 25")
-Fixed a bug with Viscous Nasal Goo that made it unstackable when cast on AI heroes
-Changed the way gold distribution is coded to hopefully prevent crashes
-AI also get the same gold bonuses as human players in -em now if using -ng
-Updated -unstuck to use the implementation in 6.52
-Changed Eclipse implementation to that of 6.50 (no ministun)
-Changed Wild Axes implementation to that of 6.50
-Changed Land Mines implementation to that of 6.50 (detect floating heroes)
-Changed AI item routine for Deathmatch

Thanks, and enjoy!

Get Battery first, it's an amazing AoE killer when used properly. Max it first.
Get one level of cage next to trap your opponent and then use battery for an easy first blood if possible.
Get Missle after one level of cage and max it, this is your 'normal nuke'. Max it.
Max cage after Missle, it will keep them close to your Battery longer.
Core Item Build:
1) Bracer(s) OR Vanguard
2) Strength Treads
3) Void(If Going Linkens) OR Bottle
4) TP scrolls (Buy as needed)
Luxury Items:
1) Radiance: Adds AoE Damage for a better battery assault.
2) SnY: Adds Health, Attack Speed, Speed, and Damage for better overall stats.
3) Shiva's Guard: Slow the enemy, add some EHP, and get some more mana.
4) Linken's Sphere: Blocks a disable while charging the enemy and get some more health and mana as well as mana regen.
5) Heart of Tarrasque: More Health, More Damage, More Tankability.
6) Assault Cuirass: More Tankability, More Support, More DPS.
Explanation:
Early game I'd grab two circlets and some tangos if your going bracers, or a stout and some tangos if you're going Vanguard.
I make Bracers or Vanguard first to get a quick health boost as I like diving into enemies (or hookshotting into them) to pull off my combos. Next, I grab boots for the obvious reasons, your speed will be 360 afterwards. That's pretty good.
Next I grab some mana regen because you're starting to gank and don't want to be waiting for any mana. Whatever you want for mana regen is fine, you don't need too much of it so a Bottle or Void usually covers it. Get the Void if you plan on making a Linkens.
Now we're getting into the luxury items. Pretty much take whatever fits your situation and desires.
If you're going Radiance, get it now because it loses it's effectiveness over time.
If you go Radiance, I suggest grabbing one of the health giving items after as everyone will probably focus you even more now.
In place of Radiance you could grab Linkens for the spellblock, mana regen, and health. If you're taking this route be sure to take a Void Stone earlier.
SnY is good for some more health and chasing down enemies. If you're having trouble getting gold it may be easier to get than the others as it comes in small pieces.
After grabbing a health item as a luxury item first, Shiva's Guard or Assault Cuiriass would be a good choice for becoming a tanking initiator.
Shiva's slows down attackers as well as provides you with more EHP through armor and it's AoE damaging slow is always a nice addition. Assault Cuiriass increases your attack speed and EHP as well as increasing the damage done by all of your team.
Strategies:
Trap Rattling
Get close to your victim, activate your battery, then activate your cage. When the cage runs out, keep running next to your enemy, and if possible step in front, hit them, and continue chasing until you get in front, then repeat.
Trap, Rattle, Blast!
Do some Trap Rattling, but missle your own cage while you're in it with your victim for added damage.
Hook, Line, Sinker.
Hook yourself to your victim, activate battery, wait until the stun ends, run alongside your enemy (if they moved), cage, missle the cage. This is your ultimate combo.
Early Game:
Try to get Sentinel Bot or Scourge Top and a disabling lane partner for early game. If you happen to be against their solo then at level 2 have your ally disable them, get behind them and pull off a Trap Rattle from the strategies above. This should net you first blood. Afterwards, stay in your lane to gather last hits and some experience. Don't be afraid to gank once you have a bracer and boots as your abilities are very powerful early.
Mid Game:
This is your time to shine. Gank using the Hook Line, and Sinker combo above whenever you see a hero alone in their lane. Be sure to participate in any team battles and help your allies if they are in trouble. You should complete your core items except for radiance during early and mid game.
Late Game:
Late game becomes more about team battles. Let someone else initiate unless you have a heart, then hookshot a low health target and perform the Hook, Line, Sinker, strategy. Late game you should get a radiance to improve your damage during this or a heart to allow you to better withstand punishment during this.
This skill build is taken from DotaPortal. I hope this can help you and i will like to hear your experience with Rattletrap the Goblin Clockwerk :)

This version marks the first official simultaneous multi-lingual release. The first round of translated languages includes Russian, Korean and Chinese. More will be added over time. I'd like to thank Danat and DonTomaso for their dedication and support to this project. This would not have been possible without their contributions. Thanks to the following translators for their work as well: Aschen, Heintje, Etc., RiiNoA, zhangx05053, Sodoes, NightMare, Attly, c.lucifer, Orange_soso, Kua, Kaka, Sprite93, Danat, Vizakenjack, Lego-, Magot, PeaceHeaver, ill-Lich, Kariy, ptizza, Vanger, John Doe, CuPaKy3, Johny
The main feature of these translations, aside from being translated of course, is that the maps are compatible with each other. That means, I can have only the English version on my computer and then join a game where the host is using the Russian map without needing to download it. The Russian players will see the language of the map they downloaded, and I will see my own language. The core game code is what is used to authenticate the map as official and the strings are externalized from this. The same is true for replays. You can watch any 6.53 replay, regardless of the original language, using only your one map. This will make sharing replays worldwide a seamless process.
You can get the map from www.getdota.com! Sorry, they change the way of giving the link, so i cannot share it directly here yet.
Can't wait to try the new hero. Here i come Goblin Clockwerk :D
PS: Sorry for pretty late post, when this map is released, i'm on a middle of trip with a bus and cannot online ~_~"

Dota-Allstars 6.52e Coming Soon! - 6.52f Soon After
Dota-Allstars 6.52e Coming Soon! Just like i said before the Warcraft 3 Patch 1.22 make some bug in the Dota-Allstars map. The most noticeable is the bug with the rune. IceFrog is working hard to fix this and probably will release 6.52e. But he found another bug that will likely not easy to fix in a night. This is what IceFrog said regarding this problems:
And looks like this will delay Dota-Allstars 6.53 released date. So Carlos, you maybe should wait a little bit more :D
If you have patched to 1.22, runes will (at least most of the time) not respawn. I am working on a fix for this atm and should have a new map out to fix it by tonight.
Update:
QUOTE(IceFrog @ Jul 1 2008, 03:49 PM) *
Sigh... I'm discovering more bugs in 1.22 now.. :(
The rune bug is now fixed, but there are other serious bugs that were added in 1.22 that are not so simple to fix on first glance. I may have to release 6.52e and 6.52f within a short period to address all the 1.22 problems if i can't figure them all out tonight for 6.52e.

Update Warcraft 3 Patch 1.22 Offline (Downloadable)
Update Warcraft 3 Patch 1.22 Offline, Download-able. Yesterday i have posted that to upgrade your patch, you must connect to one of four servers. Thanks to our friends BenjX, you can now download the 1.22 patch without connect to server. Just go the ftp link and download the 1.22 patch. The file size is pretty big (77 Mb) so maybe it will take a while. The download link is in the end of this post.
You must note that there's a possibility you will failed to patch up and usually you must re-install Warcraft 3 and repatch again. Ok, here is the download link. If you want English version, choose the enUS version.
