Smoke of Deceit, Medallion of Courage & Ancient Janggo of Endurance Guide

Smoke of Deceit, Medallion of Courage & Ancient Janggo of Endurance has just introduced in the DotA 6.70. Lots of players is trying to figure out the best use of these new items. Let's give it a check, shall we?

Ancient Janggo of Endurance
Bracer (525), Robe of the Magi (450), Recipe (750)
+ 8 All Stats, + 8 Damage, + 5% MS and AS Aura
Comes with 3 charges. When used, grants nearby player controlled units an extra 10% MS and AS buff. Lasts for 6 seconds.
Cooldown: 30

Without a doubt, this items will come handy when you're ganking someone or on the team clash. The speed and AS buff will let you chase and kill the enemies with ease. Even though it only contains 3 charges, the aura will still remain there.

Medallion of Courage:
Chainmail (550), Sobi Mask(450), Recipe (200)
6 Armor, 50% Mana Regeneration
Target an enemy unit, both you and the enemy lose 6 armor for a duration.
Cooldown: 7, Duration: 7, Cast Range: 800

Another ganking items. A ganker like Vengeful Spirits will surely have the benefits both from the Mana Regeneration and the targetable armor reduction from this item. Just make sure you put the armor reduction on your team target. Another perfect wearer is Balanar (Slow + Silent + Armor Reduction = GG) and maybe Tidehunter (Gush). If you have more suggestion for which hero that fits this item, share it on the comment section.

Smoke of Deceit (Consumable)
Cost: 100, Charges: 1
Stackable in inventory
Store Stock Max: 3
Store Stock Replenish Time: 10 minutes

Places a buff on all allied player controlled units in 900 aoe. Makes them invisible, grants 10% movespeed bonus, and prevents them from appearing on minimap to enemy players. If you get within 900 aoe of an enemy hero or tower, the buff wears off. If you attack creeps or Roshan, it dispells.

Buff lasts up to 40 seconds,90 Cooldown

At the first glance, i really confuse with the purpose of this item. Invisibility which will break if you're around 900 AoE of enemy hero or tower is seems useless. And so what if you disappear from Minimap? You're invisible after all. Geez, is IceFrog make the wrong item?

But wait! After giving it more thought, i think i know the main purpose of this item.

Let me ask you, as a ganker, what is your biggest obstacle? Ward, ward and ward. No matter how cautious you are, if you're getting caught by the enemies ward on the river or forest, your gank will likely to fail. However, the Smoke of Deceit will allow you to get through with ease.

The invisibility will counter the Observer Ward and Dominated Creep which placed on the river. And even if the enemies put Sentry Ward, you still won't appear in the Minimap. Yihaaaa! Moreover, the speed buff will let you go into another line faster. Neat huh?

All in all, i dare to say that Smoke of Deceit is by far the Ultimate Ganking Item. And it is very possible that this item will be popular soon on competitive scene (which is full of Ward and Counter Warding).

Do yo have different thought with me? No problem, let's discuss! :)

My Dota 6.68 Prediction - No Phoenix?

Well, as the title said, this post is my Dota 6.68 prediction :) You can also participate by telling me what you know based on the Preview #1, Preview #2 and Preview Video.

1. There will be at least 4 new heroes. The Wisp, Thrall, Gyrocopter and Gnoll Warden. (Preview Video)
2. Phoenix, which is the most anticipated hero on Dota 6.68, is somehow not showed on the Dota 6.68 trailer. This could mean that Icarus is not yet ready for the Dota 6.68 and maybe put on the next version. But there's also a possibility that Ice just doesn't want to show him on the trailer. Let the time answer that. (Preview Video)

3. At least 1 new item, which is the Orb of Venom. (Preview #2)
4. Tiny's Aghanim will let him take the tree and maybe increase his range. (Preview Video and Preview #2)
5. Kinetic Field is Thrall's skill which makes heroes trapped on the circle. (Preview Video and Preview #2)

6. Warlock's Aghanim will let him summon multiple Golems? Still unsure about this. (Preview Video)
7. New Skeleton King Vampiric's Aura. The cosmetics is changed, but no information about the effect. (Preview Video)
8. New Captain Mode (Preview #2)
9. New Gold System  (Preview #1)
10. New Cosmetics for Puck's Aghanim (Preview Video)
11. The Wisp have a kinda Teleport skill which allow to teleport a hero with him. (Preview Video)
12. The Gyrocopter has missiles as his skills. He is mech-themed hero just like Tinker. (Preview Video)
13. The Gnoll can levitate a hero with purple circle. Or maybe he gain something from enemy heroes death. (Preview Video)
14. ...

Wanna help me add the list? ;)

PS: Updated with the leaked skill from Leaky, who commented on this post.
Please note that this is from unconfirmed source, but based on video, it seems real ;)

Gnoll - INT
--- 1st skill: Banishes target like Obsidian, upon returning, create 2 illusions of that target
--- 2nd skill: Target an area, but only one? (not sure) is affected, that unit takes more damage... the animation where the heroes levitate in the video is just them having this buff.
--- 3rd skill: a low cooldown spammable "nuke"; via Shockwave style, only it deals 50 damage, and every time a unit is hit, they are given a charge. after 10 seconds of not being hit, or activating the "poison" itself, deal damage depending on number of charges. very hard to aim since aoe similar to Windrunner's arrow
--- Ulti: single target purge, stunned then slowed... after those buffs are gone, the target is dealt 200/300/400 damage.

Gyrocopter - AGI
---1st Skill: Upon activation, randomly fire 30 rockets around you, 10 rockets per second, lasts 3 seconds, just very weak damage, no stun... though like Leshrac, if there is only 1 target within the area, he will take ALL rockets
---2nd Skill: Homing Missile; launches a missile; inactive for 2 seconds first... afterwards, it starts to home in on the target; ignoring fog. The missile can be destroyed, and it will stun the target upon impact, and deal damage depending on distance traveled (max of 400 damage on lvl 4)
--- 3rd skill: limited self orb effect: your attacks damage all units within 800 AoE of you. Lasts for a certain time limit or for 3/4/5/6 attacks. yes this is full damage, but again, no orb effect *have not tested all other orb effects*
--- Ulti: NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED... target an area, after 2 seconds, a missile damages all enemies and slows them, then after 2 seconds after the 1st missile, another one is launched, weaker damage.

Far Seer: INT
--- 1st skill: Target an enemy, putting a cloud above them. Every second? (maybe 1.5 seconds), the cloud strikes the target, dealing damage, will also damage any units near the affected units. Lasts for 3 strikes
--- 2nd skill: Time Lapse, only this time you target your enemy... after some time, the target will return to where he was 4 seconds ago. Cast range and cooldown? improves per level
--- 3rd skill: Plamsa Field: Similar to Furion's Sprout, but bigger AoE, and your allies can go in and out
--- Ulti: Think Riki's smoke, but there's also DPS. DPS is low at first but if you stay to long, the DPS grows

Wisp: STR?!? (may change, 500+ range)
--- 1st skill: target an ally, you are "hooked" towards that ally, and both of you gain bonus MV SPD (and maybe other benefits? didn't check). The 2 of you have a "tether"/link. Any enemies that pass by this tether are stunned.
--- 2nd skill: Upon activation, every few seconds, an orb circles around the wisp. Any enemy units hit by the orbs are slowed and damaged. I think you can grow/shrink the radius of the orbs circle around you. Supposedly creeps do not consume the orb but are also dealt damage.
--- 3rd skill: Drains 2.5% of MAX HP and MP to grant bonus ATK SPD and damage?. Can cancel. The tethered unit you have from the 1st skill also gets the bonus.
--- 4th skill: Teleport to any location for a limited time... if you have a tethered unit with you, he is also teleported. After 12 seconds, you are teleported back to where you 2 were.

Final Update
It released guys!! Check out the Dota 6.68 Download Links and the Dota 6.68 Changelogs.

Dota Capture Point Mode Guide | -cp (-capturepoint)

Dota 6.67 has a new fun game mode that somewhat requires more teamwork and coordination than the usual game. This mode is called Capture Point. In this mode, you can capture certain point by standing on the spotted location on the map above. The duration to capture the point is depends on the how many heroes are there. The more the faster you are.

Now we're not only fight to kill enemy heroes and destroy their tower. The capture points appear after 10 minutes at the fixed locations around the map. Once the capture points are created, those areas are permanently visible to both teams for the rest of the game.

As i said before, we must standing at a certain amount of times. If you're alone, it takes 60 seconds. If all five heroes are there, it only takes 12.5 seconds. The important thing is there cannot be any enemy heroes at a point you are trying to capture. So, you must kill any enemy heroes approaching your targeted point. Heroes cannot be invisible while on a capture point area. Illusions do not count as heroes when on top of a Capture Point.

The capture points consist of 3 types. If you get 2 of the same type then they stack. For example, if you have both Combat you get 28 bonus damage and 8 bonus armor.

Combat - CP Type 1 [Bonus Damage/Armor]: Increases your Damage by 14 and Armor by 4 (Twice of each if you have both)
Regen - CP Type 2 [Bonus Health/Mana Regeneration]: Increases your Health Regeneration by 4 and Mana Regeneration by 1
Speed - CP Type 3 [Bonus Movement/Attack Speed]: Increases your Movement Speed by 4% and Attack Speed by 12%

Duplicates of each type are available on opposite sides of the map.

The game announces when an enemy captures a point. It is also visible on the minimap which areas you have captured and which areas the enemy has. When you capture a point, your team's heroes gain bonuses to various attributes as stated above and all allied heroes in that area will get healed for 200 hp/mp, gain 150 bonus gold and bonus xp (4 creeps worth).

Even though it will need some times to let the players learn the rule, looks like Capture Point Mode will be a fun alternative mode when you're tired with the usual Captain Mode or All Pick mode. I will update this post when i got more information, tips and guide. Meanwhile, share your experience and your though about this new mode in here :)

Dota Myths and the True Facts

Myth:
Pressing F1 or ctrl + 1234567890 which already binded to your hero all together will make you regen faster than normal in your fountain.
Fact:
False. The regeneration rate is still the same, only the number refreshes faster.

Myth:
Buying Vlads will get your illusions a lifesteal.
Fact:
False. Illusion didn't get the lifesteal effect from Vampiric Aura or cleave from Battlefury. However, illusion can still get Feedback orb from Diffusal Blade (only melee) and Radiance aura.

Myth:
Using Battlefury, the Omnislash are cleaved.
Fact:
False. Only the additional slash will be cleaved. The true slash will remain intact without cleave.

Myth:
Quelling Blade makes last hitting easier.
Fact:
Half true. While it can help you increase the damage for last hitting creeps, on some heroes like Leviathan, Nerubian Weaver and Juggernaut, their attack animation is changed and thus make it harder to last hit.

Myth:
Stacking Vanguards increases your block damage.
Fact:
False. Stacking Vanguards increases the block chance, not the block number.

With 2 Vanguards you will still block 40/20 (melee/range) dmg, but at a higher percentage (70% for 1, 91% for 2).

Myth:
Dropping items that give int but no mana reg while at fountain will make you regen faster.

Fact:
True. Fountain mana regeneration is based on max mana % + 7 mana/second. So, dropping an energy booster, int threads, etc, will make you regenerate your mana faster at fountain.

Those are gathered from the PlayDota forums. If you have something to add or wanna make some correction, please share it here by dropping a comment. Enjoy! ;)

Kill Roshan at Level 1 Hero Line Up

Nowadays, it's possible to take Roshan at level 1 and get the advantages over the enemy. Imagine when you're start your match with one of your friend already on level 5? Great isn't it? But taking Roshan at level 1 is also risky. If you failed or taking too long, you can start the match under leveled. Here is 7 line up who can kill Roshan even before the creeps appear:

Old School Line Up

+ 2 random heroes

Those 3 is the best combination to kill Roshan. Fury Swipes on Ursa, Frost Amor casted on Syllabear Bear and that's all. But if you pick these hero, i guess most of the team will realize what's your plan ^^ And here's some more combination that's less obvious for Roshan at level 1.
